Growing up in Madison, Wisconsin as a little girl I used to listen to the radio all the time. There wasn’t the endless options streaming has brought us nowadays. We’d just turned the radio on and listen to whatever was playing that day. Things were definitely simpler. My Dad introduced me to the oldies he grew up with on 94.9FM. I remember rocking out in the car as he drove me back and forth to dance lessons on Monona Drive. As a teen I’d listen to 104.1FM which had all the latest pop songs, and I’d listen to Casey Kasem do the top 40 countdown on the weekends in my basement.
Getting on the radio has never been a goal of mine, but recently a song I wrote called “Carry On” was played on a radio station 95.5FM in Madison, Wisconsin!
Say what?! (jazz hands)
There’s a weekly show called “Live, Loud and Local,” hosted by Rob Roberts on the Madison Radio station WWMV-LP 95.5FM. On July 16th, 2020 “Carry On” opened the show. Here’s a replay of the episode and radio play:
I’m thrilled to have gotten air time on the radio! Incredibly grateful and tickled to have a way to share it here.
